Joy of the season…

Are we showing the Joy of the season and what Christmas is all about to guests who enter our churches this Christmas? It is so easy to get so focused on the events, activities, and details of the season that we forget about the guests and the hurting who long for connection.

Do we say “You are seen, You are loved, and You belong” by the way we welcome, by our energy, and our presence?

The sweetest thing is to walk into church on a Sunday morning and be welcomed in with a smile and a “glad you are here”. It’s such a small thing to a lot of us, but can be so huge to someone who has had a really hard, long, discouraging week. It’s even better if they pull into the parking lot and get that greeting before they even get out of their car.

Showing that you cared enough to prepare for them is so encouraging and is noticed. This also goes a long way for people who attend our churches regularly. For them to see the effort, love, and care that goes into Sunday morning encourages them to keep coming. This could even help them want to be a part of making a difference on a Sunday morning by serving.

What better way to celebrate His birth than by serving in a parking lot or greeting team this Christmas season. Let’s show the love of Christ and what this season is all about by serving Him and sharing that same love with those God puts in our path. Even if you are not serving on a serve team, you can still show up ready to love and encourage everyone you come in contact with.

People will come to your church this time of year that do not go all year long. Let’s make sure they see that they are loved, seen, valued, and belong this season so that in the new year they will want to come back and be a part of what they experienced during the Holiday season.

Remember, this season is ALL about Him and that He came to save us. He came that we may have life and have it abundantly. Let that show on Sunday!!!

Psalm 100:1 and 2a (CSB) says – “Let the whole earth shout triumphantly to the Lord! Serve the Lord with gladness!”
